Allto is the controller of any personal information, which means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information.  We are required by law (ie, Data Protection Act 2018) to tell you the things set out in this notice.

What personal information we collect about you

When you complete the ‘Contact us’ form on our website, we will collect the following personal information from you: full name, company name, location, email address and telephone number, plus any information that you include in the enquiry that you submit.

How your data is used

At no time will the information you provide be used for any purpose other than research, and you will in no way be adversely affected by taking part.

We do not use market research to sell or promote any products/services. Our market research surveys use scientific methods to gather your opinions and we commit, in obtaining your co-operation, to not mislead you about the nature of the research or how the findings will be used. Your responses will be treated as confidential unless you consent to being identified.

Personally identifiable information about you will only be used for the purpose of our research study. Our company policy is to securely retain any personally identifiable information for a six month period. After this six month period, the data will be destroyed.

Where we ask permission to pass on your data in a way which would allow you to be personally identified, we will ensure that the information is only used for the stated purposes. We will not send you unsolicited mail, pass on your email addresses to others or telephone you at a later date for this purpose. If we wish to recontact you, we will ask your explicit permission for this.

How we use personal information and what are our legal grounds for using it

We use the information that you give us on the ‘Contact us’ form to respond to your enquiry, which includes passing it on to the relevant members of our staff who can most suitably reply and also to send you any information that you may have requested.
Our legal grounds for using personal information in this way are that it is in our legitimate interests to be able to respond to enquiries that we collect via our website.

We use cookies to help us improve the performance and user-experience of our website. Other than as set-out in our cookie policy, we do not collect information via cookies that may identify you personally.

Our legal ground for using cookies on our website is that it is in our legitimate interests to monitor how our website is being used and to make sure that we can improve the way that our website performs.

Do we use personal information to make automated decisions

You will not be subject to decisions that will have a legal or significant impact on you based solely on automated decision-making.

How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information collected from you via the ‘Contact us’ form for 12 months from the time that you contact us, in case you get back in touch with us so that we can refer back to the previous correspondence that we had with you and tailor communication.

If a dispute arises, we will hold on to your personal information so that we can deal with it and this may mean that we keep it for longer than 12 months.  We ensure that any personal information is securely deleted after the periods stated.

Who we share personal information with

We only share the personal information that you give us with the following third parties and for the following reasons:

• With third parties who provide and support our IT systems: We use reputable third parties to provide IT systems and support.  They may access personal information to the extent that they need to, in order to provide their services or provide support. The legal ground for this is that it is in our legitimate interests to be able to use reputable third parties to provide appropriate IT systems and resolve any issues;

• With a company that we merge with or transfer our business assets to: If we sell all or part of our business, or merge with another company, we may transfer personal information that we have collected as described in this notice, along with our other business assets, to the company that we are selling to or merging with. The legal ground for this is that it is in our legitimate interests to be able to merge or sell our business;

• With entities, companies or individuals outside Allto Market Research for legal reasons: We will share your personal information with entities, companies or individuals outside Allto Market Research where it is necessary to comply with any law, rule, regulation, legal procedure or governmental request that is applicable to us.  The legal ground for this is that sharing your personal information in this way is necessary in order for us to comply with our legal obligations;

• With entities, companies or individuals outside Allto Market Research to obtain advice: We also share your personal information with external professional advisors such as lawyers or accountants in order to take advice and for the purposes of legal and tribunal proceedings.  The legal ground for this is that it is in our legitimate interests as a business to be able to obtain professional advice from external advisors about issues that may arise within our business.

How we transfer personal information outside the EEA

We store personal information in the UK.  We only transfer personal information outside the EEA where our third-party service providers who we share personal information with (as detailed above) are based outside the EEA, have support services located outside the EEA or host personal information outside the EEA.

We only transfer personal information outside the EEA where we have legal grounds for doing so and where we ensure that personal information is protected to the same standard as it would be in the UK.  We do this by entering into data sharing agreements with the recipients of personal information based outside the EEA which comply with the EU Commission’s standard clauses for the transfer of personal information or by ensuring that the third party is signed up to an appropriate Privacy Shield.

What rights you have over personal information

You have the right to make a complaint to the UK regulator for data protection issues at the Information Commissioner’s Office (https://ico.org.uk).  However, we would welcome the opportunity to address any concerns before you approach the ICO and so, if you are happy to do so, please contact our Quality Manage in the first instance and we will try to resolve your issues. You have a number of rights over your personal information: Where our use of your personal information is based on your consent, the right to withdraw your consent at any time;

• The right to ask us what personal information we have about you and to have a copy of your personal information from us;

• The right to ask us to correct any errors in your personal information;

• The right to ask us to review and explain our legitimate interests to you;

• The right to ask us to delete your personal information where (i) our processing of your personal information is based on consent, you withdraw that consent and we have no other legal basis to use your personal information; (ii) we don’t need your personal information anymore; (iii) you have asked us to review and explain our legitimate interests to you and we don’t actually have a valid legitimate interest to do what we are doing; (iv) our use of your personal information is illegal; (v) we have to delete your personal information to comply with our legal obligations;

• The right to ask us to restrict the use that we are making of your personal information where (i) you don’t think the personal information we have about you is correct, so that we can check if it is correct; (ii) what we are doing with your personal information is illegal but you would rather we stop using your personal information rather than delete it; (iii) we don’t need your personal information anymore, but you need us to keep it so that you can exercise any legal rights; and (iv) you have asked us to review and explain our legitimate interests to you, so that we can check whether we actually have a valid legitimate interest to do what we are doing; and

• The right, where our use of your personal information is carried out for the purposes of an agreement with us and is carried out by automated means, to ask us to provide you with a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine readable format. Respondent Privacy Policy

This page aims to help you understand the types of information we might collect about you and how we use it.

Allto would like to thank you for taking part in our genuine market research. We take every reasonable precaution to ensure the privacy and security of your information.

How we store survey data

Online surveys: Allto use in-house software to operate survey questionnaire software and data collection process. The data from the survey is held by Allto on our own servers.

Telephone surveys: Allto’s telephone unit is located at our head office and uses the same software suite.  The data from telephone unit surveys is held on our own servers.

Type of data we collect

Personally identifiable information about you, which could include (but is not limited to) your name, address, telephone number or email address. These details could have been provided:

1. Directly by you through your answers to questions on one of our surveys
2. By one of our clients
3. Via a list of contacts which we have purchased

In the case of online surveys, we may collect technical details such as the name and version number of the internet browser you are using, your IP address, your operating system, and the time you started/finished our survey. This data is collected purely for quality control purposes.

If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence

How your data is used

The legal basis for processing your data is to enable Allto to provide the service as agreed with its clients for legitimate market research purposes.

Your right to request personal data

You have the right under the Data Protection Act 1998 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to access any information we hold about you. You also have the right to the following:

• To object to processing of your data;
• To restrict processing;
• To rectify data held
• To be forgotten (all personally identifiable data we hold on you to be deleted)

We will be happy to respond to any of these requests or any issues you may have. You can make a request by emailing

You can also contact our Data Protection Officers at this email address.  We may ask you for proof of identity and address (e.g. copy of your driving license or passport, recent utility bill or credit card bill).  This is to check that any information we disclose is only provided to the authorised party.Please be aware we may need to retain your information on our files to resolve disputes or for technical and legal requirements and constraints related to the security, integrity and operation of our surveys.

Allto has rigorous security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under their control. Only certain employees have access to the information you provide us and are only granted access for data analysis and quality control purposes. By participating in this survey, you consent to this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not complete or take part in the survey.
