Duncan McCallum and Kathy Layton met in the 1980s whilst running the research and planning department of one of the North’s foremost advertising agencies. At that time there were few independent research agencies outside London – so spurred on by a desire to demonstrate that a Southern base isn’t an essential prerequisite of good research they opened the doors of Allto Consulting in 1982.

Both Duncan and Kathy have MBAs with a marketing specialism – as a result, from the outset, the Agency has had a firm commitment to generating research and insights with practical applications which truly help clients to improve their marketing mix, and ultimately increase profitability.

Kate has nearly 30 years’ experience of designing, managing and analysing research projects in a wide range of business to business fields. A graduate in modern languages from University College London, she spent 5 years with IFF Research Ltd in London before joining Allto Consulting in 1988 to establish a dedicated B2B research resource here.  She has been a Partner with the firm since 1994, and is also responsible for the design and implementation of our quality assurance systems.

Matt joined the agency in 1995 after completing an honours degree at Oxford University. He was made a Partner in 2000, and has managed projects across a range of sectors utilising a variety of quantitative methodologies for companies such as Nestlé, Arla Foods, Carlsberg Tetley, Bosch, National Trust and The Co-operative.

Matt is also experienced at using advanced statistical techniques to segment data and create predictive models.

Alex has over ten years’ experience across public and private sectors with extensive qualitative research experience.

Alex has employed a wide range of Qualitative techniques generating meaningful project insight whilst forging close client relationships.

He joined Allto Consulting in 2014 after time in pharmaceutical market research. Prior to this he spent time working for the Home Office and in public sector consultancy.
